A. JUDSON BABCOCK

A Brief Biography

Judd Babcock brings 30 years of real estate experience to Prudential Gore Range Properties in Avon. He developed, built and sold luxury condominiums in the Sugarbush Valley in Vermont. His development company also was the largest affordable multi-family builder in the state, where they also rented and managed apartment properties from Burlington to Bethel. At the same time, Judd was instrumental in helping to sell commercial properties in the New England area over a twenty year period. In 1991, Judd moved to the Vail Valley and opened a commercial joint venture in Denver to purchase multi-family projects with the purpose of renovating them, managing them, and eventually reselling them as the market improved in the mid 90’s. Today, Judd’s expertise has been available to both residential and commercial customers who need the assistance of a professional in the entire real estate industry.

Judd has just completed his three tenure on the Board of the Eagle County Charter Academy and he served as President for the year 2000. Over that time, the campus was moved from the existing site, and four new buildings were built. In addition, the school  added four new grades, first through fourth, so that new teachers were hired and the school doubled in size. Prior to joining the Board of ECCA, Judd had been the Executive Director of the Vail Christian High School in Edwards. Judd was in charge of obtaining the permits, contracting the work, hiring the Principal, and supervising the fundraising to pay for the up front costs. As a result of these efforts, Judd was nominated by the Colorado League of Charter Schools for the Charter Friends Award, and also by the Eagle County Board for the Friends of Education Award.

Judd has three daughters who have attended ECCA, Isabel, Ashley and Polly. He also serves on the Board of the Vail Valley Soccer Club, and is active as a parent volunteer at Ski Club races. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and Harvard Graduate School of Business.
